Davey is an excellent instructor and coach, who is able to both teach effectively and pick up and correct any errors in technique, leading to fast and very positive learning outcomes. As a guide, I do not think that there is anything about fly fishing for trout in Ireland that he does not know. Going fishing with Davey is both fun and very rewarding....!

I have fished with a lot of guides across North America and have never fished with a more complete guide than Davey. His knowledge of the waters we fished and the surrounding local were unmatched. Fishing should be fun and Davey made the day fun and successful! I would highly recommend Davey for a great day of fishing and conversation.

Was lucky enough to be able to book a day with Davey early in the season on Lough Corrib. From start to finish Davey was a complete professional. His knowledge of tactics, fish habits and the fly life of not only Lough Corrib but of several lakes was insurmountable. His ability as a boatman in challenging conditions was something to behold. We spent the whole day in areas with fish showing when other boats were reporting seeing no fish sign at all. To top it all off Davey is one of life's gentlemen, a true professional and always up for a laugh. Could not recommend him highly enough, will most definitely be booking another outing with him.

James and myself are two individuals who have no fly fishing experience. Davey took us under his wing and was extremely patient. His guidance and teaching abilities were excellent. He took care of us from the beginning of the day to the end, and ensured we had a wonderful time but also that we learned the foundation of fly fishing. He also packed us a delicious lunch! Thanks to Davey, we both landed our first Trout on the fly! Thank you for the lifelong memories, we will be back!

Davey was an absolute gem. He was more than just a guide, we made a friend. When you're with Davey, you're in good hands. He knows the lay of the land, or in this case, the water. He is aware of the seasons and the right equipment. Davey is great chat and it really felt like we were out fishing with a friend. I cannot recommend anyone else in Ireland I'd rather have as a guide. Get on to Davey and you'll see what I mean!

Even though the weather was not ideal Davey did a great job, looking for the right place and method until we found the fish of the trip! He has an excellent boat and his lively personality made it a great day.

Myself and a friend had two days on Corrib with Davey this May. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. His knowledge of the lake, it’s fly life and it’s fish got us both into our personal best trout. An absolute professional and a great man to spend a day on a boat with. We will definitely be back out with Davey again.

We weren't expecting a Portadown accent when going to Corrib, but we had great craic with Davey for the weekend. We got two personal best fish to the boat on a day where every boat was coming in with no fish. Changing tactics when needed. Will be going out again.
